A romantic portrait of a very industrious flower. Vibrant sunset colors of yellow, orange, and coral are painted in a loose and flowing watercolor style to create the backdrop for the botanical design of the painting. The flowers and foliage are set in a dark grey tone to contrast with the colorful background to create that glow at sunset when looking at the garden and seeing the flowers backlit and glowing from the golden light of the sun.
Grown from seed and selected right out of my garden. I use the flower itself as a mark making tool to create the overall design of the painting. I hand paint each petal, stem, and leaf to take its impression onto the paper that I have earlier painted a flowing watercolor background. Once the floral impression has dried I then paint more detail onto the painting to complete it.
Acrylic paint on cold press acid free watercolor paper
The Image measures roughly 5” x 7” and the paper measures roughly 6” x 8”
Remember colors vary from screen to screen and to in person viewing.
All sales are Final.
